Well, well, well... Here we are. About a month and a half into our shelter-in-place orders here in the Bay Area. My family and I are good, hanging in amidst the strangeness, and I am managing to get some creative work done in between other work, childcare, and family responsibilities. This will be a semi-short blog entry. Just felt like it was time to give a few updates on what is happening with my writing and music lately. To begin, here is a new song I wrote about 4 days into the COVID-19 shelter-in-place orders. I wrote it after a conversation with a friend who was having a tough time as this all began, worried about ailing parents and his own place in the world as this global crisis began rearing its ugly, relentless head. I wrote it inspired by my friend, but it is dedicated to all of us. Everywhere. Lullaby For The Anxious by David Edward WagnerAnd Speaking of Writing and Music....I am excited about being almost complete of a TV pilot called The Brother's Blood. I have a completed Series Bible and a script into the Mid-Point (halfway through the story). It is an Urban Fantasy/Crime genre piece. It is fun with a mythology's worth of potential. Also, I am working not he Second Draft of a new novel, The Swill. I have been working on this a couple years now but finally getting focused on completing the second draft. It is a Science/Speculative Fiction novel about androids hooked on a highly-addictive oil-based drug and the remnants of human society trying to survive the over-run streets. Lastly, with writing, I am touching up a script called Retreat for the marketplace. It was recently a semi-finalist in Fresh Voices competition and I am working on a few points to sharpen it up. It is a Thriller about a group of women at a writer's retreat in the Alaskan wilderness. Needless to say, things get desperate when they lose all power and run out of supplies in the middle of a massive blizzard. Excitement and drama. Musically, I am working on an album for kids featuring some brand new original songs by my good ol' self as well as classic, beloved kids songs. This will be awesome and I will be announcing release date and info as soon as it is closer to time. That's enough, I suppose. A few other things here and there in various states of being, but nothing to mention here and now. I have been freelancing on Upwork and I am currently accepting writing projects in the following areas: Developmental Editing, Content Editing, Dialog Punch Ups, Polishing/Trimming/Tightening an existing draft Flexible Rates for your budget. Contact here or at Upwork. My Profile is: https://www.upwork.com/fl/davidw Well, That's All Folks. Thanks for stopping by and reading this. It is appreciated.
Trying to get back in the habit of doing this regularly but we'll see how that holds up. Certainly enough going on to write more, having a very productive year or so and making some headway in the business of writing. A couple more corners to turn... Cheers and Best To You, David Edward Wagner
